The new Wellness Drop is here 💌 plus a dreamy SIRO giveaway
Your weekly dose of what's hot, what's healing, and what's actually worth leaving the house for!

Hi Friends,
✨ Welcome to our shiny new look! ✨
Can you believe The Wellness Drop has only been live for three months?! In that time, over 1,100 of you have joined us here — and every week we’re blown away by how many of you open, read, and share your thoughts on what we put together. These newsletters take a lot of love, late night edits, and more matcha lattes than we’d like to admit… so knowing they’re landing with you means everything. 💛
And because no glow up is complete without a little treat, we’ve got something seriously special to celebrate our relaunch:
🌟 WIN a one night stay at SIRO — Dubai’s coolest wellness-focused hotel — PLUS a free SYNKRO class (aka the headphone-powered sweat session that has us buzzing - see our Sunday Spotlight below!)
Here’s how you can enter to be in for a chance to win this epic prize:
1️⃣ Refer 3 friends to sign up to The Wellness Drop (details below). Boom. Easy.
✨ PLUS you’ll get a Bonus entry if you share our launch reel HERE to your stories and tell us why or what you love about TWD.
Good luck to you all, and again, to all the besties who open, read, and laugh along with us each week. You make TWD what it is, and we can’t wait to keep growing (and glowing) right alongside you. 💛
With love (and lots of gratitude),

SYNKRO at SIRO
Imagine if Jane Fonda threw on a pair of headphones, teamed up with Gen Z, and turned aerobics into a brain and body rave. That’s SYNKRO. A full body release that somehow manages to be sweaty, empowering, and seriously fun all at once.
Created by Mariam Sawedeg and Brittany Small, SYNKRO mixes strength, functional fitness and dance inspired movement into one high intensity practice. It’s not just your muscles that get tested - the coordination keeps your brain firing, too. The headphones seal the deal, locking you into the music and cues so you feel like you’re in your own world (minus the awkward gym stares).
I left with my heart racing, my body buzzing, and my mind lighter - and I can’t wait to go back.
So gals, if you want to feel strong, sweat hard, shake your sillies out, and walk out with a grin, this one’s for you.

Jane Fonda meets Gen Z… with headphones 🎧✨

As we ease into September, the city is finding its rhythm again - schools are back, routines are returning, and so is a sense of structure. This week’s line-up is here to keep things balanced: soul-nourishing events across Dubai plus an online workshop you can join from anywhere. Whether you’re ready for movement, meditation, or a mindset reset - there’s something to help you step into the new season with calm and clarity.

INDUSTRY TRENDS AND NEWS
🧊 Glacial Glow, or Just Cold Hard Cash?
In what might be the most Dubai thing we’ve ever seen, a company is is now selling 10,000-year-old glacier ice… for your face. The promise? Pore tightening, depuffing, brightening magic. The price? 160 AED for a tray of six cubes. Yep, that’s nearly 27 dirhams per freeze. Unsurprisingly, it’s gone viral on Instagram..(mostly as meme fodder we imagine.) Because nothing says “sustainable skincare” quite like flying ancient ice across the globe to melt on your cheeks.
Wellness Bestie Take: We’ll stick to the ice trays in our freezers, thanks. File this one firmly under more money than sense.

🔥❄️ Hot, Cold, Compressed — Meet Hyperice X 2
Ice packs and hot water bottles just got benched. Hyperice has unveiled the X 2 Knee and X 2 Shoulder — the next generation of its contrast therapy tech. We’re talking deeper cold (down to 4°C), hotter heat (up to 49°C), and built in compression to push temps deeper into tissue. Add smart controls, Bluetooth, and a travel friendly 1kg frame, you’ve got recovery that’s athlete tested but good for us everyday mortals too.
Our Thoughts: The benefits of contrast therapy are well researched and renowned - from easing inflammation to boosting circulation and speeding recovery. And this sleek bit of kit packages it all in a way that feels more Formula One than frozen peas. We’re fans.

🍹 Sober Curious Is the New Social Currency
Alcohol consumption is drying up globally - Gallup reports only 54% of Americans are drinking, the lowest rate ever, and more than half now believe even moderate drinking is bad for health, with women and Gen Z leading the shift. While we don’t have these kinds of stats in Dubai (a city that thrives on fine dining, socialising, and a good glass of something), we’re definitely seeing the rise of sober curious spaces here too — think coffee-fuelled gatherings like Soul Sessions and Upaya.
Bottom Line: From NA beverage brands to wellness clubs and ice bath socials, the spaces that replicate the ritual and buzz of drinking (without the hangover) are quickly moving from niche to mainstream. And while we’ll never say no to a good glass of something, we’re fully here for the shift away from the idea that alcohol is a prerequisite for fun. Connection, not cocktails, should be the real social currency.

🎾 Serena Serves Up GLP-1 Transparency
Serena Williams has opened up about using a GLP-1, joining the growing list of high-profile women speaking candidly about the medication. Her openness adds fuel to the conversation around these drugs - from their medical potential to the cultural debate they’ve sparked across wellness and weight care. Whether you think these meds are miracle drugs or risky business, to us, one thing’s clear: transparency like this matters.
Hot Take: For too long, women have been shamed for seeking support with weight, health, or hormones. By speaking out, Serena helps normalise asking for help, removing stigma, and reminding us that empowerment doesn’t mean doing it all alone. Love them or hate them, GLP-1s aren’t going anywhere. But honesty, openness, and ditching the shame? That’s the real win.

🍎 Apple’s Red Light, Green Light
After a months long pause, Apple has quietly reactivated its blood oxygen monitoring features on the Apple Watch. The tool had been disabled following a patent dispute, leaving biohackers and wellness trackers without one of their favourite data points. Now it’s back, letting users once again measure SpO₂ to monitor recovery, sleep, and performance.
Zooming Out: It’s not medical grade, but for the quantified self crowd, more data = more power. Welcome back to the wrist, red light.

RESEARCH SPOTLIGHT
🐝 Bee Venom and Breast Cancer: A Promising Path
Ongoing research into whether bee venom could help treat breast cancer is making “important progress,” according to scientists at the Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research. Building on solid preclinical work published in 2020, experts at the institute’s Epigenetics Lab have been exploring how venom from honeybees might kill aggressive breast cancer cells without harming healthy ones. The focus is on melittin, a component of bee venom that attaches to cancer cells and disrupts their membranes. In lab models, it destroyed breast cancer cells within hours, with particularly strong results in hard-to-treat triple-negative cancers. Researchers are now exploring how melittin could act as a delivery system for drugs like chemotherapy, helping them reach cancer cells more directly and effectively.
Zooming Out: It’s far too early to call this a cure - the research is still in preclinical stages and no human trials have taken place - but we must say the findings are promising and point to new possibilities in cancer treatment. We’ll be watching this one closely.

TREND TO WATCH
🎪 When Brands Become the Party
Forget just slapping a logo on someone else’s start line - brands are increasingly creating their own races, tours, and festivals. From Nike’s After Dark Tour to On’s Track Nights, big brands are transforming run culture into full-blown festivals: think live music, community vibes, and late night energy alongside the competition. The goal? Not just selling gear, but building belonging. By owning the stage (and the finish line), brands get to shape the vibe, the community, and the conversation.
Bottom Line: The future of fitness marketing looks a lot like a festival — where connection is the main event and merch is just the souvenir. Anything that brings people together in the name of wellness is a win in our books — here’s hoping this trend isn’t just a moment, but a movement.
